JUST ACROSS THE BORDER

NEW ALBUM RELEASE 1.4.2017

Five years in the making, Just Across The Border is a hip hop album with a revolutionary attitude.

Paying equal homage to the golden era of hip hop and sound system dub reggae, it was recorded and produced in Monkey Marc’s solar-powered studio in Melbourne, Australia.

From bass-heavy speaker-blasting hip hop to cinematic musical epilogues and raw sonic beauty, Just Across The Border is Combat Wombat’s first album in over a decade.

This is truth-exposing, riot-inspiring music to tear down borders and break down the walls of racism and injustice we live under.

Just across the border is available on vinyl in the UK and Europe from Pumpkin Records and Maloka or on Bandcamp

ABOUT COMBAT WOMBAT

Combat Wombat are a political hip-hop crew based in Melbourne, Australia. Armed only with samplers, mics and turntables, powered by solar energy and an uncompromising belief in Truth over Spin, Combat Wombat delve into issues of national identity, indigenous rights, the government’s treatment of refugees and alternative energy, bringing reports from the front line of resistance.

Renowned for taking bass bins hostage and blasting raw political fire in these unsettling times, MC Elf Tranzporter, MC Izzy Brown, producer Monkey Marc and DJ Wasabi will take you on an unforgettable ride of truth and rights, mixed with dub-heavy bass and boom bap style hip hop beats.

Combat Wombat have performed in refugee camps in Palestine, with Palestinian hop hop artists in Israel, and toured extensively through Europe. They have also performed at festivals and events around Australia, and supported bands and artists such as Public Enemy, M1 from Dead Prez and Akil from Jurassic 5.
